This is an original work in charcoal on cotton rag paper. This piece is framed in a custom Montgomery frame and has museum non-reflective plexiglass. You can see a video of the framed piece.

The piece measures 12 x 24 inches. The frame measures 18 x 30 inches.
The Sandhills have a unique ecology and landscape. They are the largest grass stabilized sand dunes in the northern hemisphere and have a desert climate. However, due to the water table being only feet below the surface, they also have abundant ground water. This makes windmills ideal in this area. Some of the groundwater is alkaline so often windmills are near bodies of water to deliver clean drinking water to cattle so they don't have to drink alkaline water, which they will if they have no other choice.
Original-7 x 5 ink painting "Bad Face"
This is one of my original drawings/paintings done in India ink on paper. This piece comes with a black metal frame, white mat and glass glazing. The frame measures 10 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches.
This is a little sketch study, not intended to be recognizable as any specific Native American tribe or people group, but mostly a study in body language and facial composition with jewelery and accessories. I did several more similar ones if you are interested in a "study set".
Original- 3 x 2 "Big Stuff" Ink Study
This is an original ink painting on paper. It features a cowboy from my neighborhood, about 120 years ago. I am not sure who he was, though I hope to find out. He sure felt he was big stuff, even if he seemed to be about 15 years old in the old photo I saw.
This comes in a black metal frame with a white mat and glass glazing. The frame measures 10 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches.
Original-32 x 25 "Welcome Dawn"
This is a piece featuring one of my neighbors against one of the large hills on my ranch. We have such a unique landscape in the Nebraska sandhills, actual sand dunes covered in grass and nothing else. Its good for cows!

Original-36 x 23 "First in the Saddle"
This piece features my sister Heidi with her Wade saddle. The original title for this piece was "Unwanted Hours" because it celebrates the early risers, the people who use the hours that "no one else wants", the 3AM -6AM crowd who get things done before anyone else wakes up. Successes are made of such sacrificies. I have retitled it "First in the Saddle" because I think it conveys the same idea and mentions the focus of this piece, the saddle!

Original-22 x 13 "West Corral"
This is a drawing of our west corral at the ranch. I can see it from my studio window. I wanted to emphasize the big sky, and the tall corral posts, and the "wavy" fence from years of abuse by cattle. It is a somewhat daunting image, as sometimes, a big day of cattle work in inclement weather feels daunting.
This is charcoal on paper, in a wood frame, behind glass. I can substitute Optium glazing for an additional cost.

This is a single edition proofing print. It was created by my print company for both of us to approve the image and the paper so it is a completely unique print in size and because it has the proofing marks. There will never be another like it! It is signed and noted as being a proof.
I toured this Ohrid lake area in Macedonia. This is one of the oldest churches still in use in the world. They think it may have been built shortly after the Apostle Paul's missionary trip to Macedonia. The original drawing is sepia ink on paper.
